The Geelong Branch of The Embroiderers Guild is a member of the Artisans of Geelong and there are many beautiful pieces in this display embroidered by our members
A unique opportunity exists for one weekend only in June 2015 to view over 180 new and exquisite creations, made by fifty-five Artisans of Geelong.
These pieces were carefully curated over a period of two years by The Johnston Collection and featured in their recent ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas exhibition at Fairhall in Melbourne.
Each piece will be displayed in the magnificent rooms of the historic Geelong Club, a location rarely opened to the public. You will be able to view these incredible works of art and learn more about each of them from the Artisans.
Techniques include embroidery, textile art, porcelain art, lace-making, tatting, beading, patchwork & quilting, weaving & spinning, art dolls, painting, weaving with plant fibre, woodcraft, tapestries and more.
